Description

Earrings inspired by a fantastic shell family. The Oysters.

Oysters have been around for 250 million years. They have an important ecological function, filtering water. These small sea dwellers clean up to 240 litres of water per day through their bodies. Their name they take from the Greek ,,ὄστρεον,, ostreon. With an extraordinarily massive shell they protect themselves. These shells are something very interesting, I’m sure you know this chalky super rough wrinkled, wavy, sometimes sharp crusty surface. I think that sums it up quite well.

A contrast inside the shell, it shines in bright pearly colours. The surface radiates calmness, something untouched. The absolute opposite of the outside.

I love to work with natural textures and bring them onto our bodies in form of jewellery.
